FAST PIXIE

Profile

PIXIE (Blk Ap ’15 bitch) was purchased privately by Jim after she was unsold at the Pelaw auction. At the same time my birthday was coming up and Alan in his wisdom decided to buy a share and this one came ‘out of the blue’ to myself ! She isn’t big at 24k but was purchased to be a Crayford racer. It’s nice to have a dog capable of being an Open racer but also it’s good getting involved in a grader and we have had a lot of success with them.

Sire – KINLOCH BRAE

Greyhound_Kinloch_Brae_

He raced in America and was top notch, winning 29 of 72 races before becoming a sire. He is a red brindle dog of 32 k and has sired well over 4,000 offspring and is a sire of sires. Pic courtesy of the greyhound data website.

Bitch – PAVLOVAS ROSA (GO WILD TEDDY)

Racing Form / Plans

To date, Pixie has had 17 races in Ireland (1 win) before being purchased by Jim. She has raced for Jim 17 times winning 5 and has raced open class as well as grading Crayford. Was injured but back with a win on track return.

History/Experience

Jim has been involved in greyhound racing for about 25 years. He left school at 16 to work for the Racing Post where he previewed and reported on open races. From there he went to work for Ron Mills at Swindon, Tony Tugwell at Reading where he was head lad for 8 years. Jim then joined Charlie Lister for 18 months where he was closely involved with numerous category one dogs including Rapid Ranger, Kit Kat Kid, Farloe Bonus and Derbay Flyer.

Jim left Charlie in 2000, when he moved to Norfolk to marry his wife Kelly. He took out his own license in 2002 and was contracted to Nottingham, where he had an enviable 33% strike rate from a 100+ dog strong kennel. The travelling between his home, the kennels and Nottingham proved inpractical. Now Jim concentrates very much on quality not quantity and has plenty of good, young open racers in his care. Homebred Jesters Nap gave Jim his biggest win as a handler by winning the Puppy Derby in 2008. Jim is presently attached to Yarmouth stadium but is about to be contracted to Crayford where prize money is the tops in the country for graded racing. However, Jim is always on the road contending open races.   ???????????????????????????????

Having visited the kennels, they are very spacious and clean and both Jim and wife Kelly were very hospitable. Also, their greyhounds made us very welcome !

JOINING THE KENNEL IS VIA

A % SHARE IN ONE OF THE DOGS.

JIM HAS A LOT OF PUPS COMING THROUGH AND ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY WILL BE COMING SOON.
