ABSOLUTE ROLLERCOASTER OF A FORTNIGHT
Hard to believe but we have lost 2 dogs so close to one another when PANTHERS SHANIA sadly had to be euthanized at the track when vets said there was nothing that could be done to save her. Then last night, HAVANA BLACKBIRD fractured a bone in a front leg on her track return just when she had hit the front coming off the final bend and looked to have every winning chance. Fortunately Ana could be saved and once her leg is healed she will be able to be rehomed and have an enjoyable retirement.
On the plus side, PANTHERS HAWK has made it now 2 wins from 2 races for Panther and PANTHERS BLUEY has made it 4 wins and a second from her last 5 races and is going from strength to strength. PANTHERS RAVEN ran an eye catching debut and we are hopeful of her being a nice dog like her full litter sister HAWK who is running (and winning) A1 events.

FINAL GO WINS !
Although we aren’t involved in the horse, it was one of two we were taking up with Sally until a decision was made for a dispersal sale. Final Go was the last horse Alan Swinbank purchased. 10’s into 6’s on his handicap debut after a couple of very promising runs it is a result Alan S. would have been happy with ! His son purchased the horse back at the sales and it now runs under his ownership. Now it would be nice to see the other horse pop in !
Sad news on the dog front was that PANTHERS SHANIA met with a very bad injury when racing on Wednesday and had to be euthanized. Such a shame as she was a lovely natured bitch, a winner for her owners and not even two years of age. Heartbreaking for all concerned.
On a lighter note, Rum has now officially retired and will take up sofa duties in the North with one of his syndicate owners. Trained by Jim, Rum won 22 of his 121 races and was 2nd 21 times. Open grade and top rated at 110. An excellent racer for his owners.

RUM LANDS HIS 22ND WIN !
Rum has been an outstanding dog and has done all owners proud. Presently being trained by Beryl, Jim Daly’s mother-in-law, at Yarmouth (track suits better than Crayford) he is still racing with lots of enthusiasm and came from last to first as is his usual form of running. What a Dog ! Coming up 5 years of age next month.
PANTHERS HAWK & PANTHERS RAVEN
Both dogs have now completed their trials and are expected to be on card next week. Shares available in both dogs and full details on www.panther-greyhounds.co.uk HAWK is available as 10% shares (£170 + rehoming charge -if needed – plus 10% monthly cost). RAVEN AS A ONE OFF PAYMENT OF £139 all in for entire racing careeer. ALL ownership benefits.
PIXIE WINS ON COMEBACK
FAST PIXIE was exactly that when romping away on comeback after 9 weeks off track. It was a very nice run. 2 more nice trials by HAWK and RAVEN at Sunderland and 2 more trials now needed before going onto the card. 10% shares available in HAWK. Details on www.panther-greyhounds.co.uk
2 NICE TRIALS
Panthers Raven and Hawk the 2 new pups that arrived early June, finally got to trial having both been in season before racing or trialing at Sunderland. Times etc on the new greyhound website. Looking forward to both racing soon. Shares are available in PANTHERS HAWK as 10% units but only 3 are now available. Full details on the dogs on their own pages on the new site and if anyone interested, please just get in touch on 07775 743 885
Kenai was due to have raced today at Crayford but the meeting has been abandoned due to the heat – not for racing at the track but due to the distances dogs have to travel in vans to get there. Jim’s dogs are travelling about 2 hours and longer if caught up in traffic.
NICE ONE ALFIE / SAM / JONNY
Although the new website www.panther-greyhounds.co.uk is for our dogs with Yvonne, this one is for Jim’s dogs and any horse news, so it was great to see MY RENAISSANCE (Alfie) win again less than an hour ago at Cartmel, even though not now in our ownership. It was a great result for Sam and Jonny and the new ownership group. He was a brilliant horse to have been involved with for ourselves when Panther were owners. It was also a great result with sp odds of 14/1 !

ALL LATEST NEWS ON GREYHOUNDS AT YVONNE’S NOW ON THE NEW WEBSITE AS BELOW
GONE LIVE TODAY !
The above website is our new site for the greyhounds we have with Yvonne. Hopefully we will be able to do more on the new site than we can on this site plus it means this site can continue with any horses coming into Panther as well as keep news on the dogs with Jim updated. Jimmy’s Blog will now be relocated to the new site ON HIS OWN DOG PAGE – LETSGO JAMES – WHICH WAS HIS RACING NAME. Please take a look on it and you can also follow on twitter and facebook. As I have said previous, it will be a work in progress as we get to grips with all things new !
NEW WEBSITE – UPDATE
The new website is almost there and it will be for our dogs with Yvonne Bell. This site will continue updates for our other dogs with Jim Daly plus any horses that come under Panther Racing – IT IS POSSIBLE ! The new site will take us out of our comfort zone with, for us, the new technology of social media ! Also we intend being able to show the dogs on video clips for potential and existing owners to view. As it is all new to ourselves, it will be a ‘work in progress’ as such and any thoughts or ideas you may have would be welcomed. Also, if you have any suitable pics for a gallery page they could be included. Please send your thoughts or pics to [email protected]
We are aiming the new site to be up and running tomorrow – Friday 29th and to be in place for Sunderland’s Festival of Racing which starts next week.
QUICK RETURN – ANOTHER WIN FOR ANDES !!!!!
Andes made no mistake with a quick reappearance to notch another win. Jim’s dogs in general are all running well of late. Andes has now won 16 from 57 races and includes an Open.
ANDES GETS ANOTHER WIN !!!!
It was a mixed day yesterday as although Andes won, Bullseye met with an injury during his win the other day. Unfortunately, it has shown up sufficiently to necessitate retirement. Jim is now preparing him for rehoming and if no syndicate member wishes to take him home, then Bullseye will go through the rehoming process. He raced 48 times for Panther and won 6, was placed 2nd x 9 and was rated 83 by greyhound data. Also, Ana, whose form had been progressing well post season looked to have a good chance yesterday of adding to her 11 wins but was wiped out at the first bend and had no chance to recover- although she tried. As Yvonne said, Ana’s a tough old bitch. Fortunately Ana is without problem.
