Racing Form / Plans

NOW 12 WINS 9 x 2nd from 46 RUNS FOR PANTHER

  • Please note the wins are since Danni joined Panther and include 1 race as Sup Graine as there was no time for the name change.

This is the first dog we have syndicated in this way. Shares are a one off payment to cover your share plus ALL racing and training costs for the entire racing career of PANTHERS DANCER. Shares are sold in 1% units and you will receive 1% of all prize money won. The set up fees also include rehoming expenses at the end of the career.

Welfare is a major issue. Every dog we have been involved in has been sold with the proviso that everything will be done to save the dog in event of major injury. Monies taken will cover vet fees. Any ‘running money’ payments will be used towards rehoming costs. Basically the one off payment is exactly that. You will not be asked for anything more.

ALL decisions regarding racing plans and the welfare of PANTHERS DANCER will be made entirely by trainer Yvonne Bell i.e. 1 SHIP 1 CAPTAIN ! It is obvious that with a group of enthusiastic owners, there will be differing opinions. Hence Yvonne is left in charge to get on with what she does best. She has been a top trainer at Sunderland for many years.

Information on your dog will come via text messages. Although a 1% share gives the impression of a 100 person group, I don’t anticipate that anywhere near that number will be the case and excess shares will be held by Panther Racing and Yvonne.

Unfortunately, injuries do occur only too readily with any athletes, humans, racehorses and greyhounds and these have to be ‘taken on the chin’. Sometimes an injured dog / horse can cost more than a runner to keep with vet fees etc. Please note, regards refunds there are none in a group like this.

  • 1% prize money won by Danni during your ownership.
  • One off payment. NOTHING more asked for during her racing career.
  • Visit the kennels on a Sat or Sun morning to ‘walk the dogs’. Please just let us know you will be going.
  • Go racing with Danni when she races. Tuesdays and Thursdays and Sundays are free entry at Sunderland but owner’s privilege cards have been kindly granted by the track to all owners in Danni for free entry on their very popular Friday meetings as well as Wed (which is live on RPGTV). These also offer 10 % discounts off food and drink. This is a very good offer by management at the track. Plus you will receive periodically free pie and pea packages including free bets and drinks.

I hope I have covered all aspects of the group but if you do have any questions, please do get in touch with myself Anne, either by text, email or phone 07775 743 885.

By joining, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of ownership of Panthers Dancer as laid out. Please just give a ring on 07775 743 885 and I will give our banking details where you can make a money transfer to. Or I will give an address where you can send a cheque payable to Panther Racing Ltd. if you prefer. You will own your share in Panthers Dancer upon transfer / cheque clearance. Cash payment can be made at the track or kennels to ourselves.

Yvonne (pictured left on photo alongside racehorse trainer Rebecca Menzies, myself, racehorse stud owner and former ladies amateur champion rider Lucy Horner and racehorse trainer Lucinda Egerton on a Christmas night out at Sunderland dogs) needs no introduction to those who follow the greyhounds as she has had a lifetime around them. Her parents were very active on the flapping circuit and Yvonne (married to John) has been training in her own right for well over 30 years now. Her daughter Melanie is married to Newcastle trainer Jimmy Fenwick and her other daughter Carolyn goes racing everyday with Yvonne. Grandson Lewis is an active fund raiser (very successfully) for the retired greyhounds, as well as being very keen on the dogs when school time permits and he has his licence for leading up the dogs which is a big help for Yvonne who has 60 + dogs in her care and is contracted to the Sunderland greyhound track. Best dog over the years has probably been Littlemoor Larry who won the Gold Cup at Sunderland. However, some of the best moments have been when seeing dogs she has raised from pups or purchased as pups climbing through the grades for their owners. Yvonne remains as competitive today as the day she started out.

Yvonne has a continuous high winning % strike rate (around 25% average).

Based on the North West of Sunderland, it has easy access from the A19. The track had a major upgrade in the 1990's and is now owned since 2017 by ARC who own several horse racetracks including the local Newcastle and Sedgefield tracks purchased it along with Newcastle greyhound track from William Hill Bookmakers. For graded greyhound racing, it is good prize money and two races taking centre stage for the Festival of Racing Finals Night meeting in July is the William Hill Classic (£15,000) and the William Hill Grand Prix (£25,000) plus an excellent supporting race card worth many thousands. Racing at Sunderland takes place on Tuesday afternoons, Wed evenings, Thurs mornings, Frid night and Sun mid day. There are many offers that take place with food and drinks. There is a very smart 150 cover restaurant overlooking the track and again there are many value packages available if booking a table. Racing itself is competitive and distances raced are 261 / 450 / 640 /metres on a circuit of 378 metres. It tends to favour the sharp dogs. Sunderland management have been very good with PANTHER, giving owners many privileges. You will be registered at the track as an owner if taking up a share in a dog with ourselves and receive ALL ownership privileges and discounts.
